I have been an artist as far back as I can remember. It seems like I was always drawing or painting; birds, pets, people, the ocean, my family, anything that was interesting to me. Even at a young age I wanted my work to look exactly like the real thing – realism! I’m a little more laid back now about the realism thing now, but I still strive to be realistic with a hint of mystery. Most of all, I want my art to tell a story.
I grew up in Redondo Beach, California in the 60’s. It was an amazing time! We surfed, played volleyball at the beach, and listened to lots of amazing music. It seemed like the whole world was ours to explore and share with friends and family. I met my husband when I was 17. Eventually we moved to Colorado with our family.
I began entering art shows in my thirties. Taking care of my family of three daughters and husband took up most of my time, but when my youngest daughter started school, so did I. I attended many classes and art clinics and still do.
Many of my paintings were inspired by trips with our archaeology group. We’ve traveled all over the Southwest and visited many ancient Native American sites.
When you view my paintings, I hope you feel like you’re part of the painting, that you’re there with me enjoying the beauty. Thank you for viewing my work. I hope that you feel the magic!
